The Aloxe-Corton appellation covers 119 ha on the territory of the town of Aloxe-Corton and 8.5 ha on that of Ladoix-Serrigny, at the beginning of the Côte de Beaune. Nearly half of the vineyard area is classified as Grand Cru and no less than 17 classified Premier Cru.
There are two types: those located on the Pernand-Vergelesses side and for the one we are interested in, Les Vercots, the parcel is located at the foot of the Corton hill. The soil is deep red clay and compact on diaclastic limestone.
100% Pinot Noir.
Color : Beautiful deep red purplish color.
Bouquet : On the nose we find blackcurrant, raspberry and violet notes.
Palate : In the mouth a beautiful depth of red fruit aromas. Beautiful masculine structure with powerful and tight tannins.
Manual harvest with sorting at reception in the winery.
In the winery: the grapes are destemmed, then traditional vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. Vatting time of about 15 days.
Aging: 12 to 15 months in oak barrels, 25% of which are new.
Ideal with a wood-fired entrecote, goulash or strong cheeses like Epoisses.
