This is now the 4th generation of winegrowers who manage this vineyard in bush vine pruning.
The 80-year-old vines are more resistant to drought, and the sap circulates more slowly, which is conducive to good ripening of the fruit. The rich clay-limestone soils are located between Orange and Sérignan-du-Comtat, in the foothills of the Massif d'Uchaux, where limestone fragments can be found deep in the soil. The highly-developed roots of the 80-year-old vines are able to access this mineral fraction. As a result, our wines are fuller-bodied, yet well-balanced and ideal for ageing.
Mainly Grenache along with Carignan. Bush vine pruning is ideal for Grenache. It creates a ‘microclimate’ around the vinestock, alternating shaded and sunny areas, encouraging beautiful slow ripening of the grapes, without excessive heat.
Co fermentation of grape varieties.
Immersion of the marc caps at the end of fermentation for optimal maceration of the grapes at a maximum temperature of 25°C. Long vinification (2 to 3 weeks) to develop the wine's aromatic bouquet and roundness thanks to daily pumping over. Aged for 8 months in stainless steel and concrete vats.
Grenache has accomplished, powerful tannins that are not excessive. Its power is counterbalanced by the ripe red fruit of the Carignan with its natural acidity and aromas of white pepper.
The rich, full-bodied, fruit-forward palate is dominated by aromas of crushed strawberries, characteristic of a Grenache harvested at full maturity. The complex finish reveals fine-grained tannins and aromas of sweet spices.
Open one hour before serving between 13-15°C with stew meat dishes or a grilled entrecote.
