Tasting notes

Colour: Bright with pale green reflections.

Nose: Immediate and pleasant impression with a bouquet of hawthorn or acacia and broom, as well as notes of verbena, mint and fern.

Palate: Nice roundness. Rich and powerful, but with finesse and suppleness. 

Food and wine pairing

Its aromatic intensity suits poultry and stir-fried vegetables. It is also the ideal partner for cooked seafood. Cheeses such as Camembert will be enhanced by its slight spiciness, and goat's milk cheeses will also be ideal companions.

Serving suggestions

Ideally served at a temperature between 11 and 13°C. 

Ageing potential

Can be laid down in a cellar for 5 years.

Origins

Viré-Clessé is a village appellation in the heart of the Mâconnais vineyards. Viré and Clessé are two villages in Southern Burgundy, between Tournus and Mâcon. The typicity of their wines being very close, a single appellation was created. The Viré-Clessé appellation covers about 400 hectares and produces exclusively white wines.

Vinification

Sorting of the grapes, pneumatic pressing then vinification in thermo-regulated vats and aging in stainless steel tanks for 6 to 8 months.
