The Pinot Noir is the grape variety of Corton Grand Cru.
Corton is a red Grand Cru in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The appellation covers hectares in the village of Aloxe-Corton , Ladoix Serrigny and Pernand Vergelesses. The vineyard is on the “butte d’Aloxe" (mound of Aloxe), south and east exposure.
Colour: nice deep ruby.
Nose: intense red and black fruits aromas (morello cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry).
Palate: this wine is racy and generous. Tannins became round and the mouth is ample, refined while remaining very strong.
This powerful and frank wine is excellent with game and roasted meat in spicy sauce. Most cheeses are also particularly delicious with Corton.
Serve at a temperature of 15-16 °C.
Undoubtedly, a wine for laying down, a Corton requires 5 to 10 years to peak and until 15 years for very good vintages.
