Chardonnay is the grape variety for white Mâcon-Villages, but Pinot Blanc vines can also be found.
- Pale gold colour with green tints.
- A fresh straightforward bouquet blending notes of ripe white fruits with a hint of vanilla.
- On the palate, the wine is round, fruity, well balanced and fresh, with a very nice persisting finish.
This Mâcon-Villages goes perfectly with whitebait, poultry and white meats, snails, grilled tofu, vol-au-vents with sweetbreads, grilled chops, white pudding, chitterling sausage, a salad of sweet red peppers and cheeses such as dry goat’s cheese or a French Bleu de Bresse.
This wine can be consumed now or laid down in a cellar for the next 3 years.
It is the southern part of Burgundy, stretching from Tournus to the southern border of Saône-et –Loire department. These vines cover nearly 3,500 hectares and are dedicated to the production of white wines such as Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran, Pouilly Fuissé and Pouilly Vinzelles.
The area covers the entire Mâcon area. There are 43 communes with specific demarcation that define the Mâcon-Villages appellations. The vines cover a wide area in terms of soil variety and microclimates, offering the white Mâcon wines a wide palette. 200,000 hectolitres are produced every year.

After pressing, the wines are settled to separate the clear juices from the coarse lees and then fermented in thermo-regulated vats (16-18°C) with selected yeasts. 80% of the cuvée are aged for 6 to 8 months on lees in stainless steel vats during which malo-lactic fermentation is carried out. 20% of the cuvée is matured in barrels (25% new barrels).
