OriginsThe appellation owes its name to a Roman legionary. The village is dominated by the Chapelle de la Madone, and its vineyards cover 785 hectares. Fleurie is often considered the most feminine of the Beaujolais crus, a delicate, refined wine. It is the archetypal granite cru, with over 90% of its soils derived from pink granite. The Fleurie massif is made up of large-crystal granites.
