2025

Production area

The appellation was established in 1940. Pouilly-Loché produces exclusively white wines made from Chardonnay across approximately 140 hectares. Located in southern Burgundy, between Mâcon and Loché, it is one of four communes whose names are associated with a specific white wine.

Origins

The vineyard spreads across east- and southeast-facing slopes at an altitude of 200 to 350 meters, ensuring optimal sunlight exposure and natural drainage. The soils, composed of limestone, marl, and light clay, give the wines freshness, finesse, and minerality.

Varietal

100% Chardonnay

Tasting notes

COLOUR: pale, brilliant golden hue.
NOSE: clean aromas of white fruits (pear, vine peach) enhanced by fresh citrus notes. With aeration, floral hints (hawthorn, acacia) emerge along with a subtle mineral touch typical of limestone terroirs, bringing freshness and elegance.
PALATE: lively freshness revealing flavours of peach and citrus fruits such as lemon and grapefruit.

Vinification and maturing

The grapes are gently pressed in order to obtain the highest-quality juice possible. The resulting must is then transferred to a temperature-controlled tank for settling (12 to 24 hours). This cold settling step is essential in our pursuit of aromatic purity. The juice is then racked off the lees and moved into temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (16–18°C) for alcoholic fermentation. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks on fine lees.

Food and wine pairing

It pairs naturally with oysters, shellfish and seafood, goat cheese, poultry, and exotic fruits.

Serving suggestions

Best served between 11°C and 13°C.

Ageing potential

Enjoy in its youth for its freshness, or cellar for a few years to develop notes of apricot jam, quince, and pear. Can be aged for 3 to 5 years.
