Production areaThe appellation was established in 1940. Pouilly-Loché produces exclusively white wines made from Chardonnay across approximately 140 hectares. Located in southern Burgundy, between Mâcon and Loché, it is one of four communes whose names are associated with a specific white wine.
OriginsThe vineyard spreads across east- and southeast-facing slopes at an altitude of 200 to 350 meters, ensuring optimal sunlight exposure and natural drainage. The soils, composed of limestone, marl, and light clay, give the wines freshness, finesse, and minerality.
Varietal100% Chardonnay
Tasting notesCOLOUR: pale, brilliant yellow with green highlights.
NOSE: expressive and elegant, dominated by floral notes of acacia, complemented by aromas of citrus and peach.
PALATE: lively, fresh attack followed by notes of pear and nuts, bringing roundness and volume, with a long and harmonious finish.
Vinification and maturingThe grapes were harvested on 26 August 2025, then carefully sorted to retain only the finest bunches. They were gently pressed in a pneumatic press, allowing a precise juice extraction while preserving the fruit’s integrity. After natural cold settling, fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was then aged for several months on fine lees before being clarified, filtered, and bottled.
Food and wine pairingIt pairs naturally with oysters, shellfish and seafood, goat cheese, poultry, and exotic fruits.
