Vinification and maturing
They Chardonnay grapes were pressed, and musts are settling under control temperature. Then engages the fermentation maintained at low temperature (18-20°C. . 64-68°F.). A short ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks, which aids the preservation of the wine’s minerality, purity of fruit and crisp acidity.
Vintage : 2022
2022 was marked by exceptional weather conditions. A mild winter allowed buds to come out early, followed by a relatively dry spring which kept disease at bay. However, the summer was particularly hot and dry, with frequent heat waves, resulting in significant water stress for the vines. Despite these extreme conditions, the grapes held up well, concentrating sugars and aromas.
Harvesting began very early, in mid-August, in order to preserve the freshness and acidity of the grapes. Yields were lower than normal due to the intense heat and lack of water, but the quality of the grapes harvested was remarkable. The bunches were small and concentrated, producing wines of great aromatic richness.
The Chardonnay wines of Beaujolais 2022 are characterised by powerful aromas of ripe fruit such as peach and apricot, with notes of white flowers and a touch of citrus. On the palate, they are full-bodied and well-balanced, with good acidity adding freshness and length. The 2022 vintage promises generous, well-structured wines with excellent ageing potential, showcasing the finesse and elegance of the region's Chardonnay grapes.
