MERLOT VIN DE FRANCE

Production area

This 100% Merlot comes from the south of France, is grown in clay-limestone soils. This vineyard is generally found at an altitude of 200 to 400 metres and combines the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

This range of easy-drinking wines, pays tribute to the great noble French varietals and especially to the roots of Ropiteau Frères.

Vinification and maturing

Some of the grapes undergo carbonic maceration, while some of the grapes are vinified traditionally in vats.

Tasting notes

COLOUR: Deep purplish red in colour.
NOSE: A hint of fruit preserves and forest undergrowth with a spicy finish.
PALATE: Very elegant and rounded silky tannins that linger on the palate. Nice balance and beautiful length.

Food and wine pairing

Ropiteau’s Merlot may be enjoyed now, but can also be laid down for two years. It is the perfect match for grilled meats, game and red meats.

Serving suggestions

Serve at a temperature of 16° to 17°C.
